Thanks to a generous donation of €1,500 from the Rotary Club Melk, 250 children from partner schools in Nairobi were able to experience a very special day. As part of the educational project nyendo.lernen and the Kangemi Kids Days initiative, the children went on an exciting excursion to Mlango Farm.
The farm near Limuru is a paradise for young explorers: children learn about organic farming in a fun way, harvest their own vegetables, feed animals and cook together – either with biogas or around a crackling campfire. The educational guided tours teach children how sustainable farming works and why environmental protection is important.
Brigitte Lindenhofer presented the project to the Rotary Club of Melk on May 6 – the club members showed great interest and enthusiasm. The international dimension of nyendo.lernen, which connects pupils in Germany and Austria with partner schools in Nairobi, was particularly impressive.
Many thanks go to Mag. Graf and the Rotary Club Melk: with their support, not only did they make excursions possible, they also nurtured curiosity, joy and important impulses for the future.
