Jörg Meyer zu Strohe, co-founder and co-owner of PlanET Biogastechnik GmbH, visited our partner schools in Nairobi in 2018 as part of a travel group and was touched and inspired by our work. Even then, we were rewarded with a generous donation from PlanET at Christmas.
At the beginning of September this year, on the occasion of the company’s 25th anniversary, the 400 guests were asked to support nyendo.lernen with a donation instead of a gift. We have just been informed of the extremely generous donation sum of over 10,000 Euro. We are delighted and deeply grateful for this support.
The donation gives us the opportunity to support our partner schools and to pay their rent debts, which are still outstanding since the Corona lockdown, and to set aside the larger part for our project to build a Nyendo Hub, a hostel and meeting center on our own property in the Kangemi slum. Once it is possible for the Officials to obtain a land registry entry for the property assigned to us, higher construction costs will be incurred, for which this donation is a cornerstone.
