On December 7, six head teachers from our Nyendo partner schools joined us at the Oseki Retreat. In addition to a review, we ate, sang and played together with our guests from Germany and England.

Below we let the guests themselves have their say:

“Good morning Inuka family. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the donors of nyendo. We are very grateful for your kind support. We would also like to thank   Irmgard, who works tirelessly to keep our children smiling. Thank you for the Christmas party 🥳 and we enjoyed the games too. we can’t forget our sisters Maggy and Brenda who spent their time making sure everything was in order …. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We love you so much.”

Veronika Nduku, Love school and St.Christopher Fischer School

“Thank you, team. Our team building was a great experience for me personally. I learned a lot from the games. It was a great Christmas present because when the time comes in January, I will be able to teach my learners about CBC (Compency Based Curriculum). Thanks to the team for the great food and drinks. Surely nyendo we are on the way forward. Mary Xmas to you all.”

Walter, Bethany Joy School

“Hello everyone. Our team building was a lot of fun. It’s good to play like children. All the games reminded me of my youth.  Many thanks to Ms. Irmgard and everyone who planned the games. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for the good reception and the snacks and drinks. Blessings to you all. Thank you very much!”

Immaculate Lumasayi, Bethel School

“Greetings. Yes, the party has given me many positive and overwhelming experiences because I didn’t have such an opportunity as a child despite being born in a good home and unfortunately losing both dear parents at the young age of 5, with my elder brother taking over my responsibilities at the age of 10.

We knew no one else in our extended family and this meant that we ended up as street children until God intervened on our behalf and we were taken to a children’s home for rescue. The experiences we had there were not so good considering how other children live with their families.

This inspired us to start a children’s home and a program to help children from similar backgrounds. So far, we have 67 orphans.

Nyendo has been so kind to us in the short time we have known each other and now I feel like we have found our family.

Live long and with much love.”
