Graduation as a life’s dream

Our new partner school, the Prosperity Junior Center, is a very special institution. Founded in 2016, it currently offers schooling to 352 orphans and children from difficult backgrounds in Kangemi and the surrounding area. Some of them even have the opportunity to live there.

Principal Patrick knows the challenges in the community from his own experience. As an orphan, he knows only too well how difficult it is to get a good education in his country – and how crucial education is for the rest of a child’s life.

The pupils at the Prosperity Junior Center are also aware of this. They are extremely committed and have a strong desire for education. Many of them dream to go to university and have a clear idea of what career they would like to pursue later on.

The Prosperity Junior Center is committed to supporting talented and ambitious students. The aim is to ensure that at least the best can attend university. But getting there is not easy: high schools in Nairobi are very expensive and it is almost impossible for most pupils to visit such a school.

To overcome this obstacle, Patrick has launched a campaign. The aim is to raise sufficient funds so that the 24 children from the upper school can continue their education at a high school. Many of these children have been part of the Prosperity Junior Center since 2016 and would do anything to continue pursuing their dreams.

We find this commitment impressive and would like to support the students. A high school education costs 50 dollars a month per student. Every contribution counts.
