The night of fire
The Love School senior in the Kawangware slum in Nairobi, Kenya, is one of nyendo’s oldest partner schools. It was founded in 2003 by Veronicah Nduku to help children infected with HIV.
In October 2021, a fire broke out in the neighborhood of the Love School senior, which also spread to the school. During the fire-fighting operations, moreover, looting occurred.
The school buildings made of corrugated iron and wood had to be repaired and furniture and textbooks replaced.
Since the Love School senior in particular is known through numerous visits by young people and friends of nyendo, the willingness to donate was so great that we were thankfully able to help here and support Veronicah’s great commitment to her students with almost 1,500.00 €, so that classes at the Love School senior could be resumed quickly. Some classes could already start again on 15.11.2022!
The next morning
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all generous donors once again for their rapid willingness to help!
