She was the first white person to visit the unofficial settlement of Kangemi with him. Even then, he opened many doors for nyendo. The visit left a lasting impression and was a source of inspiration for all following engagements in Kangemi. The friendship with Mr. Simiyu lasted over the years and made many things easier in the area.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><p>There are also personal relationships with our German students. During their visits to Kenya, Mr. Simiyu often took them into his home and they felt like they were part of his family. He is a fatherly companion to the students and a really good and valued friend to all of us at nyendo. Nyendo paid the salaries of all teachers seven times over the years, planted a lush Permaculture garden on the school grounds, set up a makerspace (workshop) for school furniture and, last but not least, sponsored an IT training center, which required the largest investment. In total, nyendo passed on the considerable sum of almost \u20ac35,000, consisting of profits from the student companies and donations.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><p>Sometimes we have to make difficult decisions. After careful consideration, we have decided to open up our resources and our commitment to other pupils in Kenya and, unfortunately, to part with long-standing companions.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-3 fusion-flex-container has-pattern-background has-mask-background
